I Care A Lot is a hugely entertaining thriller, a side-swipe at 21st century capitalism n the US, and a joyous film of representation. Rosamund Pike is on top form as the (beautifully suited) Maria Grayson, a court-appointed guardian for elderly people who need care and support. Well, that is how she presents, but in fact she asset-strips them, seizing their homes to pay for her (inflated) services, care home bills – working with her business and life partner Fran (Eiza González) to fund their glamorous life style. All is going well until they move in on their latest mark, Fran (the wonderful Dianne Wiest), a wealthy retiree with no living family. If last year James did not get the chance to compete on the stage in Rotterdam, he will surely get the chance this year. Yesterday, 18h Feb 2021, BBC announced that James Newman - who because of the pandemic did not get the chance to sing on the stage of Eurovision 2020 - will be representing the UK at Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam.
