EBU finally put and end to the case of alleged drug use at Eurovision Song Contest 2021 by Damiano of Måneskin. The press release is clear and leaves no doubt: No drug use took place! The band that won Eurovision 2021, landed in Rome yesterday and quickly communicated the they are all going to get tested for drugs today 24th May 2021. This is what the lead-singer, Damiano David, communicated via social networks to all their fans and to those who followed them during Eurovision Song Contest 2021, for them to stop all those speculations saying that he used drugs during the live Grand Final of the competition. What an amazing night, this Grand Finale of Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with a so unexpected but wanted victory of the Italian Band Måneskin. It was looking almost impossible, given the high scores that Switzerland and France had reached by almost the end of the votes announcements... but Måneskin were finally able to bring the Eurovision Song Contest back to Italy after they last held it in 1990. We’ve seen him and appreciated his performance (and not only) in yesterday’s second Semifinal of Eurovision 2021, so we want to invite you all to get to know Ahmad a bit closer. Ahmad is Syrian and is now an international ballet star, but his past and childhood gave him many obstacles to overcome, and he did, boy if he did! He was born in 1990 in Yarmouk in Damascus, where he grew up and lived for the first years of his life. From 2007 until 2016 he studied dance and taught ballet to support himself in the city of Damascus. He also taught dance to orphaned and disabled children free of charge. A vey sad news has just reached us from Rotterdam: Duncan Laurence tested positive for Covid-19 and will not be able to take part to the Grand Finale of Eurovision 2021 as planned. Once again, COVID-19 makes the lives of the organisers of Eurovision song contest 2021 miserable. Unfortunately the winner of Eurovision 2019, the Dutch Duncan Lawrence, tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore will not take part to the grand finale of Saturday 22nd of May 2021. Covid-19 is still a number one danger for all artists participating to Eurovision 2021. Today, all accredited press received the following communication: "Following the positive COVID-19 test in the Polish delegation on Saturday 15 May all other members of the delegation undertook a PCR test, in accordance with the health and safety protocol of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, and we’re pleased to report that all these PCR tests returned negative results. As a precaution the Polish delegation will remain in quarantine until being retested ahead of dress rehearsals for Semi Final 2, in which Poland perform, on Wednesday.
