For the first time in the history of the Contest, Bulgaria will host the Eurovision Song Contest — and the honour has gone to Burgas, the Black Sea city that will welcome artists, delegations and fans from across Europe and beyond in May 2027.
There is still plenty to be announced, but we already know some of the most important details.
So if you are already thinking about Eurovision week, here is everything we know about Eurovision 2027 in Burgas so far.
When Is Eurovision 2027?
The three televised shows have already been confirmed.
The First Semi-Final will take place on Tuesday 11 May 2027, followed by the Second Semi-Final on Thursday 13 May.
The Grand Final will take place on Saturday 15 May 2027.
All three live shows are scheduled to begin at 21:00 CEST.
Where Will Eurovision 2027 Take Place?
The Contest will be staged at Arena Burgas, Bulgaria’s newest major sports and entertainment venue, which opened in 2023.
Burgas is Bulgaria’s fourth-largest city and sits on the Black Sea coast, approximately 400 kilometres from Sofia.
That means Eurovision 2027 could feel rather different from many recent editions.
This time, Eurovision really is going to the seaside.
Why Burgas?
Burgas beat Sofia in the final stage of the Host City selection process, after Varna and Plovdiv had previously been eliminated.
According to the EBU, the selection considered the venue, technical requirements, transport, accommodation, international connectivity and the city’s ability to welcome the thousands of people involved in Eurovision week.
Burgas was ultimately selected for the combination of its modern arena, infrastructure, tourism capacity and its vision for turning the whole city into part of the Eurovision experience.
What About Eurovision Tickets?
Tickets are not on sale yet.
Prices and ticket categories have also not been announced.
What we do know is important: fans wishing to enter the ticket sale will need a free Eurofan account.
In addition to the three televised shows, tickets will be available for six Preview Shows — two ahead of each live broadcast.
So if Burgas 2027 is already in your plans, creating a Eurofan account sooner rather than later is probably a sensible idea.
Eurovision Village and EuroClub
The Eurovision Village, EuroClub, Opening Ceremony and wider entertainment programme are still to be confirmed.
The EBU says a full schedule of activities will take place across Burgas during Eurovision week, with further information being released over the coming months.
And this will not simply be a Burgas project.
BNT has said Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna will also be involved in the wider programme as Bulgaria hosts Eurovision for the very first time.
Should You Book Your Trip Yet?
If you already know that you want to experience Eurovision week in Burgas, it makes sense to start researching.
But there is one important warning.
The official Eurovision FAQ currently advises fans to wait for further information before making non-refundable travel arrangements connected specifically to Eurovision events that have not yet been confirmed.
Flights and accommodation may become increasingly expensive as May approaches, but flexibility could be very useful while the final programme is still taking shape.
Burgas 2027: What We Are Still Waiting For
We still need confirmation of:
the participating countries, hosts, ticket prices, ticket sale dates, Eurovision Village, EuroClub, Opening Ceremony and the full fan programme.
And, of course, most importantly:
the artists and songs.
