Mahmood and Blanco elected winners of the first night of Sanremo 2022 by the Press Room

We watched the whole first night of Festival di Sanremo 2022 and we think we might have found our winners in Mahmood and Blanco. The first semifinal of Sanremo 2022 is now over, and the Festival of the Italian Songs gave us all great moments of show that almost made us forget the fact that the show always lasts for an eternity. Positive note: the last singer - Giusy Ferreri - was introduced on the stage before midnight Italian Time (groundbreaking!). Nothing can compare the emotions, the tears, the shivers we all had watching Måneskin singing their success “Zitti e Buoni” - the same song that allowed them to win Sanremo 2021 and Eurovision Song Contest 2021 - but when they sang “Coraline” and Damiano had teary-eyes, well.. put it together with the strong and profound lyrics of that song,...

Road To Eurovision 2022 – Chanel wins Benidorm Fest

We've watched live the Final fo Benidorm Fest, and Spain's got a winner, baby: Chanel. It's time to say that Spain was finally fed up of getting 0 points at Eurovision Song Contest, and this year, thanks to the edition of Benidorm Fest, the selection - very hard to be honest - declared that Chanel will represent Spain with her latino.dance-pop song "SloMo" at Eurovision 2022 in Turin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO2yGXVQCfo We really have to be happy for such a victory, where we can finally see Spain coming back to the contest with an artist that screams "babe, I'm competition for all of you"! Votes Chanel won Benidorm Fest being elected first by the judges on site, and was second both for the opinion poll and the audience who televoted, that on the other hand, had Tanxugueira...

Road To Eurovision 2022 – Titina’s Talks with Fado Bicha

A new marvelous season of Titina's Talks has begun, and on this Road To Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, we decided to kick it off with a fun and honest interview with Fado Bicha, one of the most interesting duos participating in Festival da Canção 2022.   We had the pleasure to have a lovely and open-hearted conversation with Fado Bicha, and the outcome of this interview is absolutely great! https://youtu.be/NRYaEinmyTk   OFFICIAL TRANSLATION OF THE SONG: Povo Pequenino - Little Nation Little was the nation, barefoot in the frost Little was the nation, taught by the beating Little was the nation, already carrying the hoe Little was the nation, crying over the times table Biting their teeth, licking their lips Dipping old bread in the stew Oh, little natio...

Festival di Sanremo selects their first “transvestite” co-host: Drusilla Foer

After so many years and after great critiques over the too-catholic and family oriented style of Festival di Sanremo, Amadeus (the host) has finally given the LGBT+ people someone they can see themselves in, selecting Drusilla Foer as his co-host for the kermesse. The National Festival of the Italian Song - Festival di Sanremo 2022 - is about to start in less than 3 weeks, and after all the critiques received in the past years, for being “too catholic and/or family oriented”, their main Host - Amadeus - who’s already hosted Sanremo in the past, selected among others, Drusilla Foer to be his co-host during the festival. The choice, of course, comes as a big surprise for the Italian audience, that is used to a very long, too times boring, 5-evenings-event, where the winner also got the cha...

Festive film: Single All the Way

It’s Christmas Eve and that means it’s time to settle down with a glass of something and some festive cheese – which could be a slice of stilton or could be the hugely enjoyable SINGLE ALL THE WAY on Netflix. Yes, it’s very American, very Hallmark, and very ridiculous but isn’t that just what we want at this time of year – particularly when it is a cute gay romcom that isn’t about trauma or coming out or dealing with an unsupportive family. Peter (Michael Urie) is heading home from LA to New Hampshire for Christmas, but doesn’t want the annual nag from his parents about why he is still single. When plans with his current squeeze go awry, he persuades his best friend and roommate Nick (Philemon Chambers) to come with him – initially thinking they will pretend to be dating, just to appeas...

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 3 – we’ve got a winner, baby.

Millions of eyes glued to their tv screens yesterday to watch the Grand Finale of RuPaul’s DragRace UK Season 3, but was the winner really deserving to be crowned? (spoilers contained in this post) We’ve already had the chance to express our opinion about RuPual’s DragRace UK season 3 in this post, and no…. It was not an article praising and complimenting this season, but what surprised us, was that readers and fans across the globe agreed with us. Yesterday we all waited for the Grand Finale, and we have to admit that it was a great episode, with a lovely Christmas(y) song and choreo, and the presence (again) of the Queens of Series 3.  *SPOILER ALERT* Krystal Versace (20 year-old from Kent) was crowned Queen of the Queens of Season 3 and has followed in the footsteps of previous wi...

Film recommendation: Ammonite

Ammonite, the second feature from Francis Lee (God’s Own Country) is now available on Amazon Prime and is a gentle yet harsh, deep and earthy yet sensual film which merits more than one viewing. In 1840s Dorset, self-taught fossil-hunter Mary Anning (Kate Winslet) is now in her 40s, ignored by the (male) scientific world, reduced to selling her finds to tourists to support herself and her ailing mother (Gemma Jones). Pompous Londoner Roderick Murchison entrusts his wife Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan) to Anning’s tutelage, to distract Charlotte from her depression after what we surmise to be the loss of a baby. Initially Anning is resentful of this soft Londoner, trying to befriend her across a social chasm and despite their very different personalities. But when Charlotte falls ill and Ma...
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK S3: the weakest ever seen until now.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK S3: the weakest ever seen until now.

The third series of RuPaul’s Drag Rage UK is airing on BBC every Thursday evening, but we all have the feeling that this is not the best that British Drag Scene can offer. After such a strong a second series, with characters like Lawrence Chaney, Tia Kofi and Veronica Green (back in season 3 because of Covid), we were all expecting to watch a levelled-up new series of the most loved and lasting tv reality-show that celebrates the art of Drag Queens… and instead… we feel we’ve been let down. Saving just a little group of the queens competing this year in RuPaul’s Drag Rage UK, namely Choriza May, Veronica Green, Ella Vaday, all the others really lack in personality and uniqueness.  Every new episode the viewer has the feeling that there is some magic which is missing to this show: wh...

Måneskin invited for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

Eurovision 2021 winners, Måneskin, performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, making this their debut on American television! The band played "Begging", which is currently #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States (smart choice, hun?). There was also time for a special performance of "MAMMAMIA" released exclusively on their YouTube Channel. The Italian superstars also announced they will be opening The Rolling Stones on November 6, in Las Vegas. Do you think Måneskin is walking on the same footsteps as the iconic Abba?

Adele’s back with “Easy on Me”

We had to wait for 6 long years but she is finally back: Adele releases Easy On Me her first single from her new album 30. The reactions of her fans is unique! I admit I’ve never been an Adele’s fan, but I must confess that yesterday I waited for midnight to come in order to listen to her new single “Easy on Me”… and did I like it? I absolutely loved it… even if it made me cry. Of course, afters such an injection of feelings, I started reading comments of her fans from all over the world, and Lil NasX was - I think - the leader on twitter yesterday night. He said: “Easy On Me’ is so good. It’s so crazy to think the last time Adele released new music I was sitting on stan Twitter. I feel like I’m 15 again.” (this appeared on a twit he quickly deleted)  The song is such a heavy ba...
