Angelina Mango wins Sanremo 2024 and flies to Eurovision 2024 in Malmö.
What a long but still amusing finale for Sanremo 2024, full of twisted turns and unexpected results.
Against all odds – as apparently the majority of the televoting people from home wanted Geolier to win – Angelina Mango triumphed at this grand finale of Festival di Sanremo 2024 and is now the Italian candidate to represent Italy at Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
Loads of polemics linked to a possible arrival of piloted and fake televotes for Geolier that seemed so close to the victory and that is still the singer from Sanremo 2024 with very impressive numbers on streaming platforms. This is sad, yes: in the end we have a young singer on that very important stage at Sanremo 2024, with his dreams and hopes, that have to clash with the discussions that went on – for all the duration of the Festival – whether the votes he received in the past evenings were genuine or not. But he made it to second place, and yes, he can be proud of his achievement.
Bookmakers did not get it right, this time.
Angelina Mango, despite all the prizes already received from the juries – and when a finalist singer receives a prize from the jury, generally never wins Sanremo – was crowned the winner and will represent Italy at Eurovision 2024.
Surely, Annalisa could have really have her chance to win this Festival, after so many years of great songs and hard work, and still it is not clear to me why she was so penalised.
What matters now, is that We’ve got a Winner, baby!
