First song for Eurovision 2022 released: “Intention”, by Intelligent Music Project for Bulgaria

We have now our very first song for Eurovision 2022! After some speculation, Intelligent Music Project has been confirmed as representatives for Bulgaria with their entry “Intention”.

The Bulgarian rock supergroup is consisted by the Chilean lead singer Ronnie Romero, as well as drummer Stoyan Yankoulov, who previously represented twice Bulgaria along with Elitsa Todorova, in 2007 with the song “Water” landing on Top 5 and then again in 2013, with “Samo Shampioni”, missing qualification. The remaining 4 other members are Bisser Ivanov, Ivo Stefanov, Dimiter Sirakov and X Factor winner Slavin Slavchev.

“Intention” is a classic rock song with 80s vibes, with its own guitar riff moment. According to what the group had shared with Darik Radio: “The song raises the question of each of us’ personal inner struggle with outdated patterns of faith and behavior that pull us back. There is no safe area. There is a useless existence. Finding the right path, however, is a battle, even a war with oneself.”
