Cornelia Jackobs performs at QX Gaygala 2022

The Swedish representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 was a special guest at the QX Gaygala 2022, a LGBTQ awards ceremony held in Stockholm. This event was established by Swedish magazine QX in 1999 and it's an annual gala to hand out prizes for LGBT achievements. Cornelia sang "Hold Me Closer" one last time before departing to Turin and she was watched by members of the Swedish Royal Family, among other Melodifestivalen participants. The Greek-German singer Andromache was announced as the Cypriot representative for Eurovision 2022. The song is called "Ela" (meaning: come) and has an international distinguished team behind its production: Alex Papaconstantinuou (Fuego hitmaker), Arash (Azerbaijan's 2009 representative), Eyelar Mirzazadeh, Fatjon Mifftaraj, Filloreta Raci Fifi, Geraldo Sandell, Giorgos Papadopoulos, Robert Uhlmann, Viktor Svensson and Yll Limani. The theme, sung in Greek and English, can be described as a pop-folk song with some dreamy elements, very much aligned with what Andromache has been doing over the last couple of months. The Rasmus will represent Finland in Eurovision 2022

Finland has decided: The Rasmus will fly the Finnish's flag in Turin with Jezebel! Fortunately, UMK'22 still happened, considering the Finnish national broadcaster, YLE had announced that they'd withdraw from Eurovision 2022 if Russia was allowed to participate in the contest. In a very strong and competitive show, The Rasmus with the song "Jezebel" was the unaminous winner from both the televote (75%) and the international jury panel (25%). The song, composed by the band's lead singer Lauri Ylönen together with Desmond. Sheldon Riley is Australia’s representative for Eurovision 2022

Sheldon Riley won 'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2022' and will represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Not The Same". Australia's national final - Australia Decides 2022 - took place today's morning (or tonight in Australia) at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gold Coast. 11 acts competed in order to represent the country in Turin for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Sheldon Riley, despite not gaining the favoritism of both the jury and televote, was crowned winner with a total of 100 points (50 points jury vote + 50 points televote). Russia is banned from Eurovision Song Contest 2022

The executive board of European Broadcaster Union has finally decided on excluding Russia from Eurovision 2022, following an increasing pressure by several European broadcasters. Earlier, EBU has stated that Russia was still welcomed to take part in the contest, after Ukraine's broadcaster UA:PBC having sent a letter to the president asking Russia to be suspended from the event. Denmark, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Iceland and Lithuania had also requested EBU to rethink about the decision. Ultimately, Finland and Estonia threatened not sending a representative to Turin, if Russia takes part. Citi Zeni, Latvia's representatives, also urged EBU to kick out Russia from the contest. North Macedonia has decided on their representative. Andrea will be bringing the song "Circles" to Turin in May. Six songs were competing in Za Evrosong 2022, MRT's national final, in order to represent the Balkan country at the Eurovision 2022. The voting consisted on 50% international expert jury and 50% online voting and the highest number of points landed on the song "Circles", by Andrea, written by Aleksandar Masevski and Andrea Koevska. Although there was a tie on Top 2, the jury voting prevailed which secure Andrea's victory. Zdob și Zdub & Frații Advahov will represent Moldova at Eurovision 2022 with “Trenulețul”

We have the representatives for Moldova at Eurovision 2022! The veterans Zdob și Zdub are back to the game for the third time, after representing Moldova in 2005 and 2011, both times being place in Top15 - 6th in 2005 and 12th in 2011. They will be joined with Frații Advahov and will sing "Trenulețul" at Turin's stage. They were selected internally following a live auditions round today, which was the best scenario after the national final being cancelled due to rising Covid-19 infections in the country.
