Sanremo 2027 is still more than five months away, which in normal life would mean it is far too early to start planning outfits, guest appearances and surprise reunions.
This is Sanremo, though.
So naturally, the Sanremo 2027 rumours have already reached the stage where we have a supermodel, an international pop star, one of Italy’s most famous TV presenters and the potential reunion of Italy’s biggest rock export all circling the Teatro Ariston.
At the centre of it all is Stefano De Martino, preparing for his first Festival as both host and artistic director.
And judging by the names currently floating around, subtle does not appear to be the plan.
Sanremo 2027 rumours start with Vittoria Ceretti
The newest name to enter the Sanremo orbit is Vittoria Ceretti.

According to a report published on 6 September by Quotidiano Nazionale, the Italian supermodel is among the names being considered for a role at Sanremo 2027, reportedly as part of De Martino’s attempt to give his first Festival a more international feel.
And, aesthetically speaking, it makes complete sense.
Ceretti is one of Italy’s most internationally recognisable fashion figures, with an enormous global profile and the sort of red-carpet presence Sanremo has always known how to use.
The report places her alongside another much-discussed name: Dua Lipa.
Nothing has been officially confirmed by Rai, so nobody should start printing the running order quite yet. But the combination is revealing.
Dua brings global pop. Ceretti brings fashion. De Martino brings a new generation of Italian television.
Suddenly, Sanremo 2027 begins to look less like a simple changing of the guard and more like a deliberate attempt to make the Ariston feel even more international.
And yes, the fact that Ceretti’s private life attracts substantial global celebrity attention will undoubtedly give Italy’s gossip magazines enough material to survive February.
Sanremo thanks her in advance.
Michelle Hunziker would happily come back too
Then there is Michelle Hunziker, who has done something extremely dangerous during Sanremo season:
she answered a question about Sanremo positively.
Speaking to ANSA on 7 September, Hunziker praised De Martino enthusiastically, describing him as fresh, talented and willing to challenge himself.
And when asked whether she would return to the Festival, she certainly did not close the door.
For someone working in entertainment, Hunziker said, Sanremo remains one of the great milestones of a television career — and something that is always a pleasure to do.
Translation into Sanremo language?
Not confirmed.
Not denied.
Let the speculation begin.
Hunziker already knows the Ariston very well and would bring exactly the kind of confident, warm live-TV presence that can be useful beside a first-time Sanremo host.
Would she appear for one evening? Co-host? Guest?
Nobody knows.
Which, naturally, is why we are already talking about it.
And then there is Dua Lipa
The Dua Lipa at Sanremo 2027 rumour has been circulating for longer, but it remains part of the picture because De Martino has openly said he is working on international guests.

Italian reports have suggested the British-Albanian superstar could potentially appear as a guest or even co-host one evening.
Again: there is currently no official confirmation.
But it is not an absurd fantasy booking either.
Dua Lipa has already performed at Sanremo, appearing at the Festival in 2020 during the Amadeus era. Bringing her back now, with a much larger global profile, would immediately provide De Martino with the kind of international television moment his first Festival appears to be aiming for.
Ceretti and Dua together would also tell us something about the possible visual language of Sanremo 2027.
Not just Italian music.
Fashion. International pop. Celebrity culture. Social-media moments.
Very Sanremo — but perhaps with a slightly wider lens.
Are Måneskin actually coming back to Sanremo?
And now we arrive at the most Sanremo story of them all.
For a brief moment, reports suggested that the Måneskin reunion at Sanremo 2027 was essentially confirmed.

Then Stefano De Martino clarified things.
It is not.
Speaking in early September, De Martino said there had been what he described as a “spoiler”, but stressed that there is currently no confirmation that Måneskin will reunite for Sanremo.
However — and this is the important bit — if Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio do reunite, De Martino has made it very clear that the Ariston door is open.
They already have his invitation.
And frankly, where else would a Måneskin reunion make more narrative sense?
Sanremo is where Italy watched them win with Zitti e buoni in 2021 before they went on to win Eurovision and become a genuine international phenomenon.
A return to that same stage would write its own storyline.
For now, though, keep the prosecco chilled rather than opened.
De Martino has hundreds of songs — and about 24 places
Behind the celebrity rumours, the actual Festival is already taking shape.
De Martino says he has listened to hundreds of songs, with another wave of submissions arriving as the Italian music industry returned from summer.
He has also indicated that he is leaning towards a smaller field of roughly 24 competing artists, allowing more time for performances and entertainment across the five nights.
Sanremo Giovani will also have greater significance this year, with its eventual winner earning direct access to the Campioni line-up.
And there is another major change already confirmed for 2027: Friday will feature a new performance-focused evening connected directly to the selection of Italy’s Eurovision entry.
So while the gossip machine is doing what the gossip machine does best, some genuinely significant changes are happening underneath it.
So what is Sanremo 2027 becoming?
It is far too early to call any of these names confirmed unless Rai says so.
But rumours can still tell us something.
The names associated with De Martino so far suggest a Festival that wants to feel contemporary, glamorous and internationally connected without abandoning the slightly chaotic Italian variety-show DNA that makes Sanremo what it is.
Vittoria Ceretti?
Very chic.
Dua Lipa?
Very international.
Michelle Hunziker?
Very Saturday-night Italian television.
Måneskin reunion?
Absolute Ariston mayhem.
Put them together and Stefano De Martino’s first Sanremo suddenly sounds rather fun.
And it is only September.
By February, we may need a spreadsheet.
