The Lithuanian band who we all loved with their “Discoteque” song, just released a new song and music video that we are all going sing!
The Room – Lithuanian Elctro-Pop Music Band – released their new single “OhMyGodable”, just today, but surprises us the most is not their great taste for good music and a new song that is easy to listen to that you start singing along just after the first 30 seconds … it the title they gave to the video on YouTube: THE ROOP – Ohmygodable (Official Music Video) (Eurovision 2022)
Is this meaning they will representing Lithuania at Eurovision 2022 in Turin? Or is this just one of the songs who will compete to selected and get the chance to represent Lithuania in the contest?
We will have to wait as no official communications have been released, yet.
TheGaylyMirror has contacted The Roop to get some clarifications.
The Song and The Video
With their new song, The Roop Band is inviting everyone not to stop playing, discovering, and at the same time to glance differently at life, art and to themselves.
“Ohmygodable” music video is directed by Saulius Baradinskas that was also the creator and director fo the video “Discoteque”.. Saulius said that “Ohmygodable was inspired by a Greek myth of Pygmalion, who fell in love with a sculpture he had carved. I think that the myth of Pygmalion is particularly relevant today, because we live in the age of social networks, within which we create our own social network ‘sculptures’, wishing to be liked, accepted and significant. It is human. Probably every one of us has a bit of Pygmalion’s characteristics. The whole music video is like a separate myth of a divine dream that occurs in the world of famous works of art. I wish that in this music video of ours the viewer discovers those art pieces and experiences our myth, like a single beautiful dream, together.”
The leader of the group, Vaidotas, said: “The name of the song is a new, rarely encounterable word, defining a person or a phenomenon if you see which you would say: “Oh My God”! In this clip the viewer wanders through world famous artworks which are interpreted in a contemporary context. I believe the music video really turned out ohmygodable.”
The video was filmed using “one take” technique – a single camera shot, and then augmented by animation created by “Meinart Animation Studio”. On the set “The Roop” was also joined by dancers Miglė Praniauskaitė and Marijanas Staniulėnas who, after their Performance on the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 stage in Rotterdam, became part of the band’s live shows and true friends.
Lyrics
OHMYGODABLE
Woah woah woah woah
Woah woah woah
(Chik chik)
Woah woah woah woah
Woah woah woah
(Yeah)
Woah woah woah woah
Woah woah woah
(O-o-oh)
Woah woah woah woah
Woah woah woah
Let me tell you so –
You are Ohmygodable.
One thing that I know –
(O-o-oh)
Ohmygodable.
(Pow)
(Oh My God, Oh My God)
(Si)
Walking around, talking.
Browsing your pics. Stalking
What you’re about.
Dreaming that we’re meeting.
On and on.
Is it really me?
I can’t believe it.
I cannot feel the ground.
My body’s tumbling down.
I think you really got me falling deeper.
Oh My God
Oh My God
Ohmygodable you are
Oh My God
Oh My God
Ohmygodable you are
Woah woah woah woah
Woah woah woah
Woah woah woah woah
Woah woah woah
(Shhhhhhhhew)
Let me tell you so –
You are Ohmygodable.
One thing that I know –
(O-o-oh)
Ohmygodable.
(Oh My God)
(Yeah)
(Uh)
Staring at you, thinking
What if you see me hardly blinking.
I don’t know how to get myself together.
How to be?
Is it really me?
I can’t believe.
Oh My God
Oh My God
Ohmygodable you are
Oh My God
Oh My God
Ohmygodable you are
Oh My God
Oh My God
Ohmygodable you are
Oh My God
Oh My God
Ohmygodable you are
