Tia Kofi releases her first music single – Outside In – and is a blast!

A bid for pop-drag-superstardom with a song, an anthem title Outside In. It is a triumphant and fierce electro-pop song written by Little Boots, Tom Aspaul and Gil Lewis, the one that Tia Kofi decided to use as debut single. An honest invitation to look “beyond the surface”. Tia Kofi had to Sashay Away in yesterday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (Season 2) but she was able to win the hearts of thousands of viewers from the UK and from around the world with her honesty, uniqueness and persona. Amongst all the other queens of season 2 in UK, she was the one remained absolutely true to her-self and her drag-alter-ego.  Speaking to GayTimes she said: “It unleashes the things you’ve always wanted to do. My drag has always been about that pop princess energy and living that life, ...

Olly Alexander jokes about the fact that he proudly brought “a lesson in anal hygiene” to the worldwide public.

The British singer from Years&Years debuted as main character of the AIDS Drama “It’s A Sin” playing Ritchie Tozer, and filming some almost explicit scenes of gay sex. We might all remember the scene when Ritchie is told that he needs “a good wash” by Ash (Nathaniel Curtis in real life) his lover in the series, just before some rimming.  Talking and reflecting about the relatability of this scene, Olly told GQ “If I can bring anything to the British public, it’s a lesson in anal hygiene. I can tell you I’ll never forget being practically butt-naked with my arse in the air in front of colleagues.” During the interview, Olly praised intimacy co-ordinator - Ita O’Brien - for being his “lifesaver” as to overcome his fear to film revealing sex scenes, she suggested him to bring more ...

Film recommendation: So My Grandma’s a Lesbian

If you are looking for a bit of fun escapism at the moment, settle in for this ridiculous but sweet and entertaining Spanish romp. Eva is a lawyer, engaged to Stuart, heir to a wealthy and powerful right-wing Scottish family (you might have to ignore some of the Scottish accents or the likelihood of any Scots being pro-Trump!). When her grandmother Sofía informs Eva that she wants to marry Celia, Eva panics that this will derail her own marriage and races back to her home village on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. She wants to persuade the elderly couple just to continue living together, ostensibly as friends, rather than to mess up everyone’s lives. Eva’s mother Natasha, who has been a part-time presence in Eva’s life, and her brother also turn up, as well as an old flame of Eva’s ...

Homocaust – the Holocaust of Gay People – Part 2

Paragraph 175 is one of the saddest and hardest chapters of our modern history. As we said in the previous part of this article, Hitler assumed that homosexuality was a "degenerate behaviour" (later said by one who was a slave to at least 80 different types of drugs that he injected or took every day ...) and that represented a threat to the demographic capacity of the state: gays were denounced as "enemies of the state" and accused as "corrupters" of public morality that endangered the birth rate of Nazi Germany. More than a million gays were victims of the Nazi regime even if they were not immediately given the same treatment as Jews; as components, albeit "deviant", of the "master race" (at least for those not of Jewish origin) he tried to convince them to adopt a "correct" sexuality. ...

Homocaust – the Holocaust of Gay People – Part 1

Homosexuals are forgotten victims of the Nazi regime. How many gay people were condemned and interned in concentration camps is not known, both for the destruction of part of the archives and because many of them, like other categories of persecuted people by the Nazis, were captured by the Gestapo and made to disappear under the Nacht und Nabel decree issued by Hitler on 7th December 1941, with the aim of eliminating the "dangerous subjects for the Reich", without leaving a trace ... Let's ignore the fact that  already at the beginning of the 20th century, Germany was light years ahead in terms of social integration policies with the affirmed existence of various activist movements for homosexual rights, but this, unfortunately, was not enough to appease the ire of a schizophrenic house ...

Years & Years release the official song for “It’s A Sin”

It’s a Sin is a new show launching on Channel 4 in the UK where Olly Alexander - the singer of the band - is one of the main characters of the show. Olly plays the role of the main character - Ritchie - an aspiring actor who decided to move to London to get a better life, but falls into a spiral of hedonism that will lead him and his friends to experience unexpected and very difficult situations. It’s a Sin - which is written by Russel T. Davies - famous for being the creator of Queer As Folk, explores and follows the lives of a group of gay men in the 80’s, in a London hardly hit by the HIV/AIDS crisis and the deaths of thousands of people linked to the LGBT+ community all around the world. https://youtu.be/1CSkP4ktc-o This song is a slowered cover of Pet Shop Boys’s hit “It’s a...

Let’s Speak Rainbow

Creating awareness on LGBT+ terminology and acronyms. Because a more coloured world is possible. At The Gayly Mirror we have analysed for long times how people around us use the acronyms and the words that describe our community, the LGBT+ community. We have tried to understand what is their reception in heterosexual community and how many people really know and understand their meanings. This is why we have started this project called The Gayly Room - Let's Speak Rainbow. Let Raffa tell you what the project is all about and what we will be doing. https://www.facebook.com/100665071522546/videos/128419765787487   Be part of the project, get in touch with us!
