KUALA LUMPUR: Government is thinking to tougher laws against the LGBT+ community.

Un unthinkable and unacceptable reinforcement of discriminating laws agains the rainbow community of Kuala Lumpur is about to be voted by the government soon. Putrajaya’s Government is decided to go ahead with a new set of laws that foresees heavier and punishments for all people found guilty of practicing LGBT+ related acts (eg. Having sex with someone of the same gender, or being in a same-sex relationship, etc), by increasing the sentencing limits to the Syariah Courts - which is part of the criminal jurisdiction - according to the Act 1965-355. Religious affairs minister - Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri - earlier this year said that “LGBT+ culture is not just against Islamic law, but even human nature”, and this is the reason why Putrajaya will push the agenda for the Act 355. Al-Bakri al...

Anti-LGBT+ factions in Israel threaten gender equality in the country.

Noam, part of the Religious Zionism slate, lists string of conditions - which we could easily call racist - for joining Bibi’s government, including halting state-run projects on Shabbat, upholding Jewish nation-state law and downgrading gender equality and LGBT+ rights. Israel recently faced new elections but unfortunately the political panorama did not change that much as Netanyahu still remains in charge as PM and his dirty games of power appear to have no end. Lately, the coalition with the religious-extremist and Zionist party Noam brought to light some very dangerous requests that this party made to Netanyahu in order to adhere to his political majority and plans of power of the country. The party NOAM demanded that “a government edict that requires government bodies to act in acc...

Bolivia’s first Same-Sex Union – history is being made!

After a two-year legal battle Guido and David could finally get their status recognised by the law. Could this first gay civil partnership lead to more LGBT+ rights in Bolivia? Guido Montano, one of the first two gay men to ever get into a same-sex union in the country, told WPR Linda Farthing: “The biggest change is a mental one. It may seem a vague idea in day-to-day life […] but I just immediately sensed that we have more rights.” When l in January both of them contracted COVID-19, without a legal recognition of their status, they were forced to look at the worst-case scenario where all they had built together so far was going to get lost, bu now, as Guido says, “with David really ill, the fact that we can now leave our pensions to each other and that we would have had no proble...

Italian extreme-right wing Party blocking a proper law against homophobia

Lega Party and his leader, Matteo Salvini, are obstructing the discussion and the approval of the so called Zan bill, showing once again, how racist and homophobe they can be. The discussion of the Zan bill (that takes the name from the MP that first proposed it), has been stopped once again from Lega - the Italian extreme-right-party - because according to the leader, Matteo Salvini, "Italy does not need a new law regulating acts of homophobia, as laws in Italy already punish all acts of racism and hate and because this law is divisive and not foreseen by the government programme." This is what also, another fascist leader of the Italian Parliament - Giorgia Meloni - repeatedly affirms, adding also that if the Zan bill is approved, Italian citizens would loose every right to their...

Homocaust – the Holocaust of Gay People – Part 2

Paragraph 175 is one of the saddest and hardest chapters of our modern history. As we said in the previous part of this article, Hitler assumed that homosexuality was a "degenerate behaviour" (later said by one who was a slave to at least 80 different types of drugs that he injected or took every day ...) and that represented a threat to the demographic capacity of the state: gays were denounced as "enemies of the state" and accused as "corrupters" of public morality that endangered the birth rate of Nazi Germany. More than a million gays were victims of the Nazi regime even if they were not immediately given the same treatment as Jews; as components, albeit "deviant", of the "master race" (at least for those not of Jewish origin) he tried to convince them to adopt a "correct" sexuality. ...

French MP Clément Beaune comes out publicly and announces a trip to Poland.

The French MP for European Affairs, Clément Beaune has decided to publicly come out on the eve of a trip to one of the so-called "LGBT-free zones" in Poland. An almost unexpected action by this French MP who said: "I'm gay. I have no problems in revealing it", which happened just a little before his trip to Poland, a very homophobic easter European country. The initiative is also linked to its commitment to defending the rights of the LGBT+ community in the rest of Europe. The message was given to an LGBT+ French magazine, Le Têtu. The minister explained that his homosexuality has never been an obstacle in his political career, and he announced his next visit to one of the Polish municipalities that have declared themselves "LGBT-free". "I wouldn't want people to say I'm fighting 'L...

Hungary bans same-sex couples from adopting children

Victor Orban and his homophobic group of MPs are continuing the ferocious and hatred campaign agains Hungarian LGBT+ population. The legislation put forward by Prime Minister Viktor Orban's right-wing government says only married couples can adopt, with some exceptions for single relatives of the child who is going to be adopted. Until this law, even if same-sex marriage is illegal in Hungary, adoption has been possible if one partner applied on their own. This is such a dark moment for human rights, and not only in Hungary. From now on single people will require special approval from the government to adopt. In the same amendment approved on Tuesday family is defined as "based on marriage and the parent-child relation. The mother is a woman, the father a man". B...

Nest US president is promising big changes to make up to some of the damages done by Trump, especially when it comes to LGBT+ rights around the states: the ban on Transgender Military Personnel and Trump’s ‘freedom to discriminate’ initiatives will be apparently erased as of January 2021. According to Associated Press, Biden will confirm Obama’s rules barring anti-LGBT+ discrimination for Federal Contractors, he will then create high-level positions on LGBT+ rights in all federal agencies and will act on schools too.
