Israel tries to ban conversion therapies for LGBT+ People

Israel becomes the first country in the Middle East to ban a sick and primitive practice. Only 30 years ago - in 1990 - W.H.O removed homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses, and immediately afterwards also the American Psychological Association and other similar and very influential scientific institutions in the world, warned of the deleterious mental consequences that people can have when "doctors" want to forcefully change someone's sexual orientation. Lobotomy was formerly used (in those cases which were considered 'difficult'), today, those countries that still allow such therapies, the use of hard mental practices, such as "pray the gay away"  - which are worse than a lobotomy - make "patients" fall into confusing states of mind that too often result in suicides. Italy: gay couple kicked out of a beach for a kiss.

Don't worry, we wouldn't be here talking about it if it happened between a boy and a girl. Versions of the facts - those from the manager of Fregene Navy Beach and from the two boys roughly sent away for a kiss - that will never match, but we didn't expect them to be so. The event was reported in a press release by Fabrizio Marrazzo, spokesman for the Gay Center Italy (which helps many cases of discrimination and violence every day), who made sure the incident got the attention of the media: "Last weekend in Fregene, Fiumicino, Rome, a couple of 20-year-old boys, while taking selfies and exchanging a kiss, at the Lido of the" Marina Militare "Fregene, were interrupted by a swimmer who threatened them to call the 'executive marshal  to have them kicked out the beach’; the boys repl...

Scrabble could remove homophobic, sexist and racist offenses from their allowed words.

And it is all happening in North America. The wake of global Black Lives Matter protests woke up many other souls, and the NASPA (North American Scrabble Players Association) is now reviewing the whole list of allowed words in order to understand wether to eliminate and ban for good, all those racist, homophobic and transphobic slurs. John Chew, NASPA CEO, wrote a letter - that you can read here - to the association’s advisory board, where he said: “I have felt for a long time that there are some words in our lexicon that we hang onto in the mistaken belief that our spelling them with tiles on a board strips them of their power to cause harm. […] I am thinking specifically of those words which are used primarily as slurs: that is, words that are used to label someone as being of less va...

Putin is afraid a rainbow ice cream that can spread homosexuality in Russia.

It is not a joke, this is just reality. YES, apparently Putin just accused a Russian ice-cream maker that they would be spreading “gay-propaganda” with their rainbow packaging. The “issue” got raised by Ekaterina Lakhova, chairwoman of the official Women’s Union of Russia, in a vide, where she claimed that this rainbow ice-cream (produced by Chistaya Liniya) was “indirectly” promoting homosexuality in children and spreading gay ideology in Russia. Lakhova, a forme MP, told the Russian President that : “They’re quietly promoting these nice rainbow colours, using nice words; they’re advertising an ice cream called Rainbow. There should be no propaganda, but the brand is advertising their ice cream on billboards with beautiful rainbow colours. Even indirectly, such things make our children...

South Africa’s Parliament to bar marriage officers from refusing to marry same-sex couples.

South Africa’s parliament passed a bill on Wednesday 1st July, that bars marriage officers from objecting to marrying same-sex couples. As also reported on Times Live , the latest stride South Africa has taken in advancing LGBT+ rights is strengthening its 2006 legislation that enshrined marriage equality. What basically happened was that the National Council of Provinces passed the Civil Union Amendment Bill that was drafted by lawmakers to repeal repeal section six of the Civil Union Act. This section, unfortunately, left some “decision” freedom to marriage officers to refuse to marry a same-sex couple using religion as justification. Section six has remained legal for too many years, and has caused loads of proplems to LGBT+ couple willing to get married in cities where marriage offi...

A big leap for human rights in this small Balkan country. With 42 votes in the 81-seat parliament of Montenegro, the law became effective as of yesterday, Wednesday 1st July 2020. Luckily during Pride Month there are Countries who make a real difference for their LGBT+ communities improving their lives. JK Rowling anti-trans tweets are such a disgusting side of someone who gained tons of money with stories of character not fitting in what she defines “normality”.

Her PR team blamed on middle-age related issues when it happened first, but Ms. Rowling proves to be a real TERF, and she’s not ashamed. It all started when JK Rowling took issue with an article in Devex, the media platform for the global development community, with the headline: “Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.” You may ask your-self why. Well, she apparently got offended with the sentence “who menstruate” …. now, honey, wouldn’t have it been easier to ask your fans to donate for this project or simply dislike the project and promote a different one? Or simply ignore this? There are so many sentences on LGBT+ communities that I find offensive and inappropriate or even ignorant - just like your anti-trans tweets - but I do turn into a racist. I rather...
