Eurovision 2021 – First Semifinal results and reactions.

The first Semifinal of Eurovision Song Contest 2021 has just ended and we have the first 10 finalists that will join the Big 5 and The Netherlands in the Grand Final of Saturday 22nd May 2021.  So many feelings, so many emotions: we spent the whole night watching the event live from the Press Room in Rotterdam Ahoy Arena, and hey, did we have goosebumps the whole night! Two years since the last real Eurovision Song Contest (Tel Aviv 2019) and we finally had the chance to enjoy such a fantastic music show that the whole world enjoyed.  Who are the finalists? Do we agree with them all? No! Absolutely not!  Norway for example: a very weak staging; a very weak voice and we hope the back singers are paid good enough to save Tix’s voice every time he sings live on that stage; majori...

Eurovision 2021 – Covid-19 cases and quarantine updates

Covid-19 is still a number one danger for all artists participating to Eurovision 2021. Today, all accredited press received the following communication: "Following the positive COVID-19 test in the Polish delegation on Saturday 15 May all other members of the delegation undertook a PCR test, in accordance with the health and safety protocol of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, and we’re pleased to report that all these PCR tests returned negative results. As a precaution the Polish delegation will remain in quarantine until being retested ahead of dress rehearsals for Semi Final 2, in which Poland perform, on Wednesday. Following a positive COVID-19 test within the Icelandic delegationyesterday (Sunday 16 May), they too have had PCR tests for which we are awaiting the results to...

Eurovision 2021 – Turquoise Carpet – The best 3 outfits of the day

Eurovision 2021 kicked off the most important week of the competition with the Turquoise Carpet in Rotterdam. TheGaylyMirror followed the ceremony and made a personal Top3 of the best outfits of the day. It has a been a very complicated start for the Competition Week of Eurovision 2021: the delegations from Iceland and Poland had someone of their teams who tested positive for Covid-19 and could attend the opening event. Due to the fact that the delegations of Romania and Malta are staying at the same hotel as the Polish team, as a precaution, they also could not attend the Turquoise Carpet. All the delegations will have to take PCR tests, and in case of negative results they will be allowed to participate live to each one's respective semifinal. But who had the best score for their ou...

Eurovision 2021: Eyes open on the odds!

Ok, ok. I know what you are thinking: 'Never listen to the odds, everything can change until May'. True. But we all love to check the odds now and then, especially for a music competition like Eurovision that we all love and follow religiously (and sometimes too dramatically!). This is why I have decided today to analyze with you the odds 'bottom five', or at least what bettors consider as the worst entries in this year's Eurovision. Unjust? Unfair? A huge mistake we'll all regret the day of the finale? Let's start the drama... Estonia: Uku Suviste - The Lucky One (35th place) A pop ballad brought to us by the Estonian singer Uku Suviste. A 'cry of pain' caused by the end of a love story through which the artist explains how even the most beautiful and intense relationships can c...

This is my TOP 5 for #ESC2021 with #Titina21

Becoming a Titiner and loving it; Selecting my Top5 For Eurovision Song Contest and loving it even more! With the victory of Duncan Laurence in 2019, the contest moved from Tel Aviv to Rotterdam, an expected return on Dutch soil after 45 years since their last victory. The 65th edition of the show will surely be remembered as the first in history to be postponed (due to Covid-19) but also as the first to be aired without a live audience (which I am afraid it might probably have a negative impact on the show). While 34 out of 40 participating countries will have to compete in the two semi-finals to gain a ticket for the grand final, the 'Big Five', joined by The Netherlands, will 'only' need to worry about bringing a decent act on stage. But the question still remains, year after...

Måneskin win Sanremo 2021 and fly to Eurovision 2021 to rock that stage

Historical win for the long-lasting Festival of the Italian Song - Sanremo 2021 - that sees a rock band winning the competition against all odds. It was already over 2 am in Italy and the Festival of Sanremo 2021 crowned their winner. Måneskin triumphed on that stage and demonstrated (again) to the whole world - actually shocking Italy - that talent shows do work and are able to discover amazing talents. Månesking is an Italian rock band consisting of lead vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio. The band rose to fame after ending up second in the 12th Italian version of XFactor (2017). "Zitti e Buoni" (tr. shut up and calm) is a rock song that will shake the stage of Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, were Månes...
