Polish Ski Jumper Andrzej Stękała Comes Out: A Brave Leap Into His Truth 🌈🎿

Andrzej Stękała and his touching coming out post. In a world where sports often feel like the last bastion of outdated attitudes, Polish ski jumper Andrzej Stękała has soared above it all by publicly coming out as gay. This bold declaration makes him one of the very few professional male athletes in winter sports to live authentically and openly, a decision that not only inspires but also chips away at the barriers still faced by LGBTQ+ athletes. The 27-year-old skier, known for his impressive performances on the slopes, has become a beacon of hope for queer individuals navigating the hyper-heteronormative world of sports. In his heartfelt announcement, Stękała shared his journey, from the struggles of self-acceptance to the freedom of living without hiding. He wrote: "What I am abo...

Måneskin on top of the world and fighting against Homophobia in Poland

Måneskin is absolutely the strongest music band of the moment, and these Italians really do it better than others ... or at least, when it comes to fight prejudice and homophobia. Damiano David and Thomas Raggi have kissed on stage in Poland in protest of rising levels of homophobia in the country, especially after all the LGBT Free Zones were created. The Italian Rock Band, who won Eurovision Song Contest 2021 against all odds, started a European tour that has seen each date to be quickly sold out, and during their concert in Poland, they launched a serious message of love, acceptance and togetherness. On their IG profile they posted the below video: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQmLgfQISg6/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link   And yes, Damiano, you are perfectly right: LOVE ...

French MP Clément Beaune comes out publicly and announces a trip to Poland.

The French MP for European Affairs, Clément Beaune has decided to publicly come out on the eve of a trip to one of the so-called "LGBT-free zones" in Poland. An almost unexpected action by this French MP who said: "I'm gay. I have no problems in revealing it", which happened just a little before his trip to Poland, a very homophobic easter European country. The initiative is also linked to its commitment to defending the rights of the LGBT+ community in the rest of Europe. The message was given to an LGBT+ French magazine, Le Têtu. The minister explained that his homosexuality has never been an obstacle in his political career, and he announced his next visit to one of the Polish municipalities that have declared themselves "LGBT-free". "I wouldn't want people to say I'm fighting 'L...
Chopin’s homosexuality hidden for many years.

Chopin’s homosexuality hidden for many years.

Frédéric Chopin was gay, but his homosexuality has been longly hidden or passed over in silence: both when he was alive and after his death by his biographers.  This is what the journalist and musician Moritz Weber demonstrates on the basis of the private letters of the Polish composer, in a two-hour radio investigation aired on the Swiss public broadcaster SRF titled "Chopin's men".  It would not be the first time that the gay or bisexual orientation of some artists, writers and historical figures has been omitted: it started with Sappho, especially if these artists lived in times when homosexuality was considered a perversion or a disease.  Weber explains: “Chopin deliberately separated his inner feelings from what he showed on the outside. He paid close attention to the way he ap...

Left-wing MPs troll Andrzej Duda the homophobe at his swearing creating a rainbow with their outfits.

The fight for LGBT+ Rights in Poland is something that must be carried on, and these MP’s from the left-wing have found a great way to troll the re-confirmed president to Poland. As anticipated, unfortunately Andrzej Duda was re-elected president of Poland last month:in  his campaign he lashed out at same-sex marriage and promised to ban same-sex couples from adopting children, comparing homosexuality to devil’s plans. With his re-election, LGBT+ rights (or whatever the LGBT+ communities in Poland reached) were smashed and completely cancelled. With the LGBT+ Polish population under attack, some activists still try to fight against this huge wave of homophobia, and some of the left-wing MPs decided to show their support to the LGBT+ community wearing colourful outfits and creating a rain...

Edinburgh asks Krakow to defend LGBT+ Rights

After Krakow joined the LGBT+ Free Zones, the Mayor of Edinburgh asked their counterpart in Poland to rethink their position and oppose to homophobia by defending LGBT+ rights. As reported by the Edinburgh Evening News, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Frank Ross, has written to the Mayor of Krakow - Jacek Majchrowski -  and has asked him to clarify the Polish city’s opposition to homophobia and LGBT+ oppression. Since 1994 the two cities are twinned by a civic partnership agreement, and cooperate in many areas including culture, heritage, monument protection and education. This same partnership has been renewed last year, but after Krakow decided to join the “LGBT+ Free Zones”, the Mayor of Edinburgh is urging them to rethink their position. Twinned towns can obtain EU grants of up to €1...

Polish Feminist Activists gave a rainbow make-over to a Jesus’ statue.

As an act of rebellion against the ANTI-LGBT+ politics of the country, this group of Feminist Activists in Warsaw decided to give some colour to a symbol of power to fight against homophobia. A radical queer feminist group named Stop Bzdurom (Stop Bullshit) claimed responsibility for the protest against the homophobic situation of their country, hanging a Pride flag on a statue of Jesus and sharing a video on social media. They were very direct in their message, saying that homophobia is rampant and very dangerous in Poland, and they also promised to stand with the LGBT+ community that is “afraid to hold hands”. Their promise is clear and solemn: “As long as the Pride flag makes someone worse and ‘inappropriate’, we solemnly promise to provoke. […] We are pissed off that our symbol - a s...

Polish President accuses media of spreading fake news about him and his homophobia

The LGBT+ Polish population is in serious danger due to a rise of homophobia justified by Polish president. Andrzej Duda - president of Poland - continues his homophobic attacks and now he has accused the media of spreading “fake news” about his homophobic views. He has just signed a sweeping anti-LGBT pledge - as we reported here - and even with proofs of his words and acts against all LGBT+ rights in this country, he is denying his homophobic acts. Presidential Elections - June 28 - are just around the corner, and in a tweet he wrote in English he raged against media saying: “Yet again, as part of dirty political fight, my words are put out of context. I truly believe in diversity and equality. At the same time beliefs of any minority cannot be imposed on a majority under the false p...
Polands gets even more homophobic with their president picturing the LGBT+ community as enemies.

Polands gets even more homophobic with their president picturing the LGBT+ community as enemies.

And some people still ask why we need Gay Prides every year. The air in Poland is getting barely breathable for the LGBT+ community that after the “LGBT+ free zones” are now being portrayed as enemies by Poland’s president which is looking for a second term of power in this month of elections. To make sure he gets a better social impact on the population, Andrzej Duda pleased those nazi-catholic groups of people (including religious representatives) by signing a “family-values-declaration”, where he promised to always “protect children from LGBT+ ideology” and prohibit the spread of such ideas involving public institutions that will have to make sure that nothing like this will ever happen. President Duda said: “This is a foreign ideology that we won’t allow to be introduced into our cou...
