Angelina Mango wins Sanremo 2024

Angelina Mango wins Sanremo 2024 and flies to Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. What a long but still amusing finale for Sanremo 2024, full of twisted turns and unexpected results. Against all odds - as apparently the majority of the televoting people from home wanted Geolier to win - Angelina Mango triumphed at this grand finale of Festival di Sanremo 2024 and is now the Italian candidate to represent Italy at Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Loads of polemics linked to a possible arrival of piloted and fake televotes for Geolier that seemed so close to the victory and that is still the singer from Sanremo 2024 with very impressive numbers on streaming platforms. This is sad, yes: in the end we have a young singer on that very important stage at Sanremo 2024, with his dreams and hopes, th...

Festival di Sanremo 2023 – second night and first general classification

The so awaited second night of the Festival di Sanremo 2023 gave us new songs to fall in love with, with the remaining artists finally performing on that stage. I  might say it was almost an easy show, for our hots Amadeus, Gianni and Francesca: no surprises, no one smashing anything on the stage and no disruptions, if not some minor tech issues with a couple of singers. What we predicted here, it is almost reality: Marco Mengoni is still leading the rankings after two nights. The Press Room - that was the only one to vote for the first 2 days - decided that the best artist/song so far it is Marco. There is still a long way to go till the big final on Saturday night, and changes, surprises can still happen. I can’t obviously say that I completely agree with the rankings so far: Elodie ...

Sanremo 2021: the list of singers who could possibly represent Italy to Eurovision 2021

Festival di Sanermo is the biggest songs competition in Italy that has a tradition of over 60 years, and since the return of Italy to Eurovision, is also the contest that decides who will represent the country to Eurovision. Twenty-six singers - the so called "bigs" - will compete on the stage of the Sanremo Festival between 2nd and 6th March 2021 - still it not clear whether the competition will be only streamed and no audience will be allowed in the theatre or if it will be a "business as usual" event. It is a tradition now that the winner of this festival will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest, even though we've had an exception so far, where Francesca Michielin - placed 2nd - represented Italy that year as the winners - which felt too old for such a competition - decid...
