I haven’t taken myself seriously. I’m nervous about the song because the song for me is a song that’s reaching. And whenever I have those. You know what I say when a song’s reaching, when it’s like you’re reaching for the stars in the melody, you’re reaching for the stars in all of it.” And this due is reaching for the stars in their video too! Demi and Sam compete in a series of olympic disciplines and in each one of them they bring that “rainbow-frizz” that we all like. And what to say about the end of the video where the two s...

One World Together At Home is going to be the event of the decade and will be used to raise money to fight Covid-19. One World Concert will raise money for health care workers through corporate contributions only, but even before this big show Lady Gaga and Global Citizen have been able to raise 35$ million for the World Health Organisation: all money that will be used to buy needed protective equipment for all healthcare workers.  Lady Gaga said: “We have raised the money ahead of time and we’re going to continue fundraising before the show. So when you guys introduce the whole special, you can tell everyone to put your wallets away, put your money away because we don’t need it — we raised the money already!” Announcing the COVID-19 concert last week, as we also reported here, Lady...

Demi Lovato and Sam Smith: the Olympic LGBT+ duo

Are Olympic Games postponed because of Covid-19 pandemic? No worries, Smith and Lovato duo will make us dream anyway. The cover of their new single - out this Friday 17th April 2020 - pictures the two artists as a sport team ready to represent the LGBT+ community at the next Olympic Games, and honestly, we can’t wait for this single to be released. 'I'm Ready' is the latest track to be released from Sam’s third album which originally had to be called “To Die For”. A choice that resulted not to be the best one given the actual situation of the number of deaths for Coronavirus.  The artist decided to postpone the effective release fo the album to a new date (t.b.c) and find a better name for it. This Monday, on his social media channels, Sam Smith wrote: “Incredibly happy to re...

Jade Thirlwall and Little Mix to possibly release a song dedicated to the Trans Community

You need to practice what you preach. Little Mix just released “Break Up Song” as the lead single from their upcoming sixth studio album, and Jade together with longtime collaborator Camille Purcell wrote a song that they think it is perfect to represent Trans people around the world. Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix spoke to Glamour last week, and said it’s essential for people to be allies of the LGBT+ community, especially during this hard time we are all facing because of Covid-19. She also said: “We’re all in self isolation and some LGBT+ people might be in a home or a family environment where they’re not very supportive of being who they are. So, if you know anybody who is in that circumstance, reach out to them, message them, show them how much you support and love them – there...

Freaky is the way! Senhit’s hymn to the beauty of diversity for Eurovision 2020.

It is Friday 13th of a leap year in which we are facing a freaking pandemic alarm: shouldn’t we only be writing about beautiful things today? As we have mentioned here, Senhit has been chosen by San Marino as representative for this Eurovision Song Contest 2020 which will be held (hopefully without programme changes) in Rotterdam from 12th to 16th May 2020. To select which of the two competing songs had to be performed on the stage of Eurovision 2020 between Freaky and Obsessed, the singer had put on an on-line ballot on her website last Saturday and Sunday. https://youtu.be/c6ZNo_hVA6E The video is a triumph of colours, a hymn to that diversity which is part of our normalcy and which must not frighten us, but it must be celebrated, fully lived and enjoyed. This year San Marino hit it...

Eurovision Song Contest 2020 – San Marino has chosen (again) Senhit

For the first time the song to be brought to the Rotterdam stage will be chosen with a digital battle! You can vote here www.senhit.com/eurovision between Sat 7th and Sunday 8th March 2020. The Eurovision Song Contest is the most LGBT+ friendly music TV event in the whole world, and for the eleventh participation in this song contest, San Marino has chosen to be (re)represented by an international singer: SENHIT! The Italian-Eritrean artist has already competed for San Marino at the ESC 2011 and this year she returns to the competition after a long experience gained on the stages of the best clubs all around Europe and the United States, singing both in Italian and in English. The success of the recent electro-pop single "Dark Room" was one of the reasons that pushed San Marino to want...

The Roop – From Lithuania to the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam

Less than 100 days left before the musical event most waited by all the LGBT+ communities of Europe and Australia and I have already fallen in love with a band. Who am I talking about? I’m talking about the trio of wonders that is "on fire" - The Roop. The Lithuanian band conquered the jury and viewers of the National Selection for Eurovision with their “On Fire”, and won the honour of representing their country at this Eurovision 2020. They had come close to participating in the contest already in 2017, but for a few points then they did not made it. This year, the guys of The Roop were asked again to participate to the selection, and luckily they answered yes: their video is among the most watched of all the songs competing in ESC2020 and we are all on fire for their choreography. A ...

This is why Italian people should thank Achille Lauro and Elettra Lamborghini at this Sanremo 2020

Sanremo 2020 was preceded by a flood of dissensions, negative criticisms and bad publicity, yet something unexpected and beautiful is happening on that stage. Maybe this edition of Sanremo Contest 2020  will go down in history as the one with the highest TV share and with the biggest line-up delays ever seen, but certainly a piece of history of music and of fight against bigotry, homotransphobia and the absurd male chauvinism that grips Italy are finally being written. On the first evening Achille Lauro got onto the stage dressed up in a black tunic which he then unexpectedly took off to show his almost naked body, dressed in a flesh-colored and full of rhinestones jumpsuit, singing in front of all the audience at Sanremo 2020 the he does “not care”  (Me Ne Frego is the title of his song...
